 n\n\nClass is $3995\, this is only a 50% deposit to hold your spot.\n\nPle
 ase Note! If you have previously participated in a Shoot2Hunt University 0
 -600 course\, you do not need to arrive on the 14th for extra preparation.
   You will need to arrive on Sunday\, February 16th. If this will be your
  FIRST Shoot2Hunt University Course you will be required to arrive on Febr
 uary 14th for additional training prior to the Winter course.\n\nPhysical 
 Details - \n\nYou should be MODERATELY FIT to take this course. There will
  be hikes with heavy packs through snow upwards of one mile in length. Do 
 NOT participate if you are out of shape or have doubts about your capacity
  to take on this challenge.\n\nRifle Details - \n\nPlease let us know if 
 you need to rent a rifle or will be bringing your own. If you are bringing
  your own rifle\, it must be chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor or smaller. Your r
 ifle must also be suppressed OR have a threaded muzzle barrel of accepting
  a 1/2-28 or 5/8-24 threaded suppressor. Some of the shooting days will ha
 ve to be with suppressors. You will need 500 rounds of ammunition if you a
 re an alumni attendee\, and 1000 rounds of ammunition if you are a first t
 ime student who needs to come to the initial two day shooting section. Amm
 unition MUST be secured prior to the course.\n\nRifle Rental - Rifles and 
 suppressors are available for rent! A rifle will cost $50 per day\, and a 
 suppressor will cost $25 per day.\n\nRifle details are due 60 days prior t
 o the course!\n\nCourse Objective:\nThis course is designed to equip you w
 ith the skills to locate\, hunt\, and recover game in winter conditions. P
 lease note\, this is not a mountain rescue course. This isn’t our tradit
 ional 0-600 curriculum either\; it’s a hybrid that combines our original
  class with skills for thriving in winter conditions.\n\nCourse Components
 :\n\nShooting and Rifle Fundamentals:\n\n 	Mastering shooting techniques a
 nd rifle handling specific to extreme cold and snowy environments\n\nWinte
 r Equipment and Clothing:\n\n 	Selecting and using gear and clothing to en
 sure safety and comfort in winter conditions.\n\nMovement in Snow:\n\n 	Te
 chniques for navigating deep snow\, including cross-country skiing and sno
 wshoeing.\n 	Equipment selection and setup for skiing/snowshoeing with hea
 vy packs.\n\nManaging Technical Devices in Cold:\n\n 	Understanding the li
 mitations and shortfalls of electronic devices in extreme cold and strateg
 ies for effective use.\n\nSnow Safety and Basic Climbing:\n\n 	Essential s
 now safety practices and basic climbing techniques.\n 	Traversing moderate
  slopes.\n\nRecovery and Safety Equipment:\n\n 	Focus on safe recovery of 
 game\, including necessary equipment and techniques.\n\nAscent\, Descent\,
  and Traverse:\n\n 	Techniques for navigating various angles and terrains.
 \n\nHunting Scenarios:\n\n 	Practical exercises involving simulated animal
  recovery.\n\nOvernight Survival:\n\n 	Experience at least one overnight s
 tay in tents or tipis to practice winter camping skills.\n\nDaily Schedule
 :\n\n 	Breakfast: At the lodge.\n 	Training: Ski/snowshoe to range or trai
 ning area\, followed by a full day of training.\n 	Lunch: In the field.\n 
 	Return: Ski/snowshoe back to the lodge for dinner.\n\nDiscussion Topics:\
 n\n 	Winter Safety: Best practices for staying safe in winter conditions.\
 n 	Snow Recovery: Techniques for effective game recovery in snowy environm
 ents.\n 	Slope Traversal: Strategies for traversing minor slopes.\n 	When 
 to “Say No to Snow”: Recognizing when conditions are too severe.\n 	El
 ectronics Backups: Alternatives for when electronic devices fail.\n\nCours
 e Layout:\n\n 	Shooting Fundamentals: Basic and advanced shooting techniqu
 es for winter conditions.\n 	Snow Movement Fundamentals: Mastering movemen
 t techniques in snowy terrain.\n 	Integrated Skills: Combining movement an
 d shooting skills effectively.\n 	Field Application: Successfully hunting 
 and recovering game in a winter environment.\n\nThis course will provide a
  comprehensive skill set for hunting in winter\, ensuring that participant
 s are well-prepared for the challenges of cold-weather hunting and recover
 y.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nTravel details - \n\nYou should plan to arrive the day be
 fore the course starts. If you are starting on the 14th\, you should plan 
 to arrive on the 13th\, and if you are planning to start on the 16th\, you
  should arrive the 15th. You are welcome and encouraged to stay the final 
 night of the course at the lodge\, but it is up to you whether you leave t
 he 22nd or 23rd.
