It is a “whole system” process - yo u\, the rifle\, the optic\, the mounts\, the ammunition\, and the equipmen t\; utilizing optimized techniques and processes to prioritize consistency of outcome and speed. The process is biased towards durability over time - which techniques result in less drop off of skill/ability over time.\n\n This is not a “basics” class as most would think of it. Yes\, the foun dational aspects of field shooting are practiced at length\, but it is use d as a way to create a conditioned response to shooting.\n\nOUR APPROACH.\ n\nAll aspects of shooting- from handling\, loading\, unloading\, reloadin g\, and firing is trained in-depth\, as well as alternate field positions\ , medically validated terminal ballistics\, exterior ballistics\, and App use\; Kestrel/weather meters\, individual and optimum partner communicatio n and flow\, glassing and spotting shots\, corrections\; backup or emergen cy plans for data\, ranging\, and environmental\, etc.\n\nWHY WE DO IT.\n\ nThis is an intensive\, in-depth field shooting course that is designed fr om the ground up to make killing animals from 0-600 yards on demand\, unde r time and stress.\n\nNote.\n\nYou will shoot a significant portion of the course past 600 yards\, and out to 1200-1400 yards depending on setup.\n\ nTICKETS\nThere are two options available for enrollment in Shoot2Hunt Uni versity. Option 1 is $4500 total\, with rifle and ammunition included. You will still need to bring your own hunting gear. Option 2 is $3500 total w ith you responsible for bringing both rifles and all ammunition. If you ch oose to enroll bringing your own gear\, we will not.\n\n\nLOCATION\n\nWill be shared with you after ticket is purchased.\n\nARRIVAL + DEPARTURE TIME S\n\nPlease arrive at the ranch no later than 3:00 PM on Sunday\, and leav e no earlier than Saturday morning.\n\nFLIGHTS\n\nThere are two nearby air port options: Billings Logan International Airport (BIL) and Bozeman Yello wstone International Airport (BZN). BIL is a 1.5 hour drive from the ranch \, and BZN is a 2.5 hour drive from the ranch. Please rent a car or coordi nate a ride with another student\, as we cannot provide transportation to or from the ranch. Bring the setup that you currently or plan to hunt with\, minus food and cooking gear.\n\nRIFLES\n\nYou will need to bring two rifles to t he course. First\, your “hunting rifle.” Bring whatever rifle you woul d bring on your dream hunt. Second\, your “training rifle.” Bring a lo w recoiling rifle for training and practice\, we recommend a .223.\n\nBoth guns will be bolt guns.\n\nPlease note that a suppressor is required for most of the course. If you cannot acquire one please let us know.\n\nAMMUN ITION\n\n150 rounds of ammunition for your “hunting rifle.”\n\n1000 ro unds of ammunition for your “training rifle.”\n\nIf your rifle is mag- fed\, we recommend bringing at least 3-4 extra magazines.\n\nOPTICS\n\nYou will need binoculars and a rangefinder. If you have rangefinding binocula rs that is great. You just need both of those capabilities. A spotting sco pe or tripod mounted 15x binoculars are highly recommended\, but it is not required.\n\nSHOOTING GEAR\n\nBring the pack that you hunt with\, your hi king sticks\, ear protection\, and a shooting mat. We also recommend front and/or rear bags.\n\nCLOTHING\n\nPlease bring the clothing you would hunt in or that is durable enough for field wear and enough to make it through the week. There is a possibility for cold weather\, so we recommend bring ing some layers as well.\n\nMake sure you have comfortable boots/shoes for near constant movement.\n\nSLEEP\n\nPlease bring all necessary items for you to sleep comfortably. We recommend bringing a sleeping bag and pillow. Although there may be a few beds available\, we recommend planning to sle ep on a cot.\n\nAPPLICATIONS\n\nWe recommend that you purchase and downloa d the Shooter app for this course. Please download it and familiarize your self with it prior to the course.\n\nFOOD + SHELTER\n\nThree meals per day will be provided by our hosts! Feel free to bring your own snacks\, but f ood and water will be provided.\n\nYou will have either a bed to sleep on or a cot in the hangar on the ranch. There are a few beds adjoined to the hangar\, but it's first come first serve!\n\nRENTAL RIFLES + AMMUNITION\n\ nWe understand that not everyone will be able to bring their own rifles an d ammunition. Many of you will be flying from across the nation\, so bring ing 1000 rounds of ammunition is not exactly possible. Please read through the following information regarding shipping your ammunition and / or ren ting a rifle.\n\nRIFLES\n\nWe have plenty of rifles to rent. If you need t o or would prefer to rent a small caliber rifle from us as your “trainin g rifle”\, please navigate to and reserve your rental through the S2H U Student Hub. Select your date and reserve your rifle via the Shoot2Hunt st ore. The price is $50 / day\, for a total of $250 for the whole course.\n\ nIf you have a small caliber rifle that would be perfect for the “traini ng rifle” role\, but cannot acquire a suppressor\, please let us know.\n \nAMMUNITION\n\nAlso in the S2H U Student Hub\, you will find information on how to purchase and / or ship ammunition to us for the class. You\, as the student\, are responsible for bringing ammunition to the class.\n\nGen erally\, it is not recommended to shoot 5.56 through a .223 chambered rifl e. However\, bolt guns in general\, and Tikkas especially\, are perfectly capable of handling the higher chamber pressure of 556. Therefore we do no t recommend but can at least point to the Palmetto State Armory 5.56 with a bullet of 69 grains or higher.\n\nAny .223 cartridge with a bullet of 69 grains or higher will be suitable and acceptable to use as ammunition for our .223 rifle rentals.\n\nREFUNDS\n\nIf something comes up and you can n o longer attend Shoot2Hunt University\, please let us know. Up to 6 months from the date of purchase\, we are able to refund you for 100% of your de posit straight back to whatever payment method you used. If you request a refund later than 6 months out from the date of purchase\, we will be able to refund you for most of the deposit\, but we won’t be able to refund the payment processor fee incurred on us.
